Design for Open Making was designed to explore the barriers to open participation in maker culture through workshops, talks and experiments The Exploration workshops and visits below helped us gather material for a talk at Future of Open in London.

Study Trips

We took UK creatives to visit maker projects in Amsterdam so that they could learn but also explore their opportunities and barriers of maker culture.

RSA Workshop

We developed a workshop for the RSA’s maker event that used low-fidelity making as a way to explore the attitudes to collaborative creativity.

Ouishare Paris

We ran a further workshop at Ouishare in Paris to better understand the wider implications of open participation in maker culture.
