Your Design Thinking project
Ahead of the Design Thinking training on March 5th and 6th we’re collecting projects the participants are working on that might benefit from a Design Thinking perspective. This page provides a very short overview to help you think about what project you might have that could be suitable. Once you have an idea just submit it using the form below.
What is Design Thinking?
Design Thinking is a way of solving people’s problems and meeting their needs in complex situations where it’s impossible to have all the answers.
It is inspired by the way that designers think and create, focusing primarily on iterative research and prototyping as methods for staying adaptable and human-centred.
Design Thinking is flexible enough to be applied almost anywhere there is complexity and human need: from building new products and services to improving processes and rethinking how organisations work.
When thinking about your own challenges you can ask yourself two questions:
Am I trying to innovate or improve something for customers or users?
Is the context too complex to immediately know the right course of action?
You may already have an idea of what solution might work. Design Thinking can help there too: either you’ll find some ways of better understanding how you got to the solution and what (if anything) you might have missed; or you’ll find useful methods for testing what you already have.
